The Results of the First Photonuclear Reaction Performed in Turkey: the Zinc Example

Published in Turkish Journal of Physics, 2014

This study investigates the decay characteristics of zinc isotopes produced via bremsstrahlung-induced photonuclear reactions. Using HPGe detector measurements and gamma spectroscopy, we determine the radioactive decay properties and energy levels of Zn-63, Zn-65, Zn-69m, and Cu-67 isotopes, with results consistent with established reference data.

Nuclear Safeguards Feasibility Study for a Molten Salt Reactor Using MCNP Modeling and Simulations

Published in Texas A&M University, 2024

This thesis develops a nuclear safeguards monitoring approach for a generic Molten Salt Reactor (MSR) using MCNP neutronics modeling. The methodology establishes relationships between plutonium content and key fission product radionuclides (137Cs, 134Cs, 154Eu) to enable Special Nuclear Material (SNM) mass quantification via Non-Destructive Assay. The proposed safeguards approach provides early detection capability to prevent plutonium diversion for non-peaceful purposes.
